Cyclone Coast

Onslow jetty -
pylons - Onslow

I gently carry a tiny shell,
leaving it on the shore- unbroken.

But do not be deceived.

Those twisted cables and smashed pylons
Those scattered pavings and protruding timbers offshore

They also are my work.

Skilled engineers plan and build tall jetties
kilometres out to sea,
Believing they will withstand my different moods.

Time will tell.

Another Bobby, Alby or Vance will come
And your pride will be tested once more.

Onslow new jetty
New jetty- Onslow
